Sharon has lived in Sunset Beach, North Carolina for 25 years. A few years ago she started to take pottery classes at Sunset River Marketplace, in Calabash, NC and has not stopped since. At first she began to relieve the tensions of her workdays but gradually perfected her craft over time to become a noted potter for the quality of her earthy creations. The work is very relaxing to Sharon and is evident in the quality of her pieces.
Her themes consist of dragonflies, butterflies, frogs, turtles, leaves and living near the beach of course there are sea creatures.
Working with many natural mediums she creates using weeds, flowers, leaves and seashells in her pottery. These manifest themselves creatively into a wide variety of shapes and sizes in the form of wall pockets, wall hangers, vases, bird baths, magnets, bowls, square plates, platters, Christmas ornaments and other assorted creative objects that are created as the muse of nature move her.
